About Pac Xon
Pac-Man is an arcade game released by Namco in 1980. It is the first installment of the Pac-Man franchise and has appeared on numerous home video game consoles, computer platforms, and mobile phones since its debut. The original Pac-Man was designed by Tōru Iwatani, and it was produced by Namco. The inspiration for the game came from a popular mazes competition held by Namco called "Ghost Mansion" in which several designers were asked to design a maze from a given theme with a time limit of one hour. The winner was awarded three prize keys that could be exchanged for real estate; however, no one had any luck finding a house to purchase with them. Iwatani's entry inspired him to create a new theme called Ghost House instead. Iwatani combined the freedom of designing their own mazes with the challenge of designing something against strict time constraints that would test their ingenuity. Thus, he created Pac-Man as an extension of his earlier idea of Ghost House where the player is challenged to eat all the dots or "mushrooms" within a given area without getting trapped or encountering ghosts in order to proceed to another level. When Iwatani registered his design for Ghosts Mansion, he had no intention on creating a video game out of it but rather as an interesting extension of his maze design ideas instead.
